Message From The Founder

Dear Esteemed Supporters,
In the heart of Zambia, a beacon of hope shines bright. I am Geoffrey Mulenga, Founder and Executive Director of the SCRAMPAP Foundation, and I invite you to join us on an ongoing mission with the potential to transform lives, communities, and our shared planet.
Climate change is no longer a distant threat but a dire and immediate crisis affecting over 3 billion vulnerable people, especially in low-income countries. Each year, heat waves, storms, droughts, and floods claim hundreds of thousands of lives, causing immense economic destruction, forced migrations, and severe food and water shortages. These crises have exacerbated gender inequality and worsened gender-based violence. The situation will continue to deteriorate unless we take bold and radical action.
At SCRAMPAP Foundation, we believe the solution begins with a decisive shift away from the fossil fuel economy that has driven us into this crisis. Our vision is clear and compelling: to install houses with solar roofs, providing abundant solar energy for inhabitants, particularly youths and women. This initiative holds the profound power to disrupt the cycle of poverty at household, national, and even global levels.
Imagine the dignity and hope instilled in the poor when they no longer have to dream of living in makeshift shelters or grass-thatched huts. Providing marginalized populations with a solar-tile or shingle roof is not just an upgrade—it's an honor. It's about offering a sustainable and decent living environment that can elevate their quality of life and open doors to endless possibilities.
A decent roof and sufficient energy are transformative. Where these essentials are present, we see a marked reduction in gender inequalities and environmental degradation. Women, who often bear the brunt of energy poverty, gain autonomy and opportunities. They no longer rely on firewood or charcoal but can use solar stoves, sparing precious forests. They can engage in economic activities, pursue education, and assume leadership roles within their communities, thereby uplifting their families and fostering a more inclusive society.
Under my leadership, SCRAMPAP Foundation has already made significant strides in combating poverty and environmental degradation. We have promoted gender equality, championed women's and girls' rights, and advocated tirelessly against gender-based violence. Our climate change initiatives, such as implementing solar roofing projects, have provided marginalized communities with decent housing and sustainable energy for their social and economic activities.
However, we cannot do this alone. We need your support to expand these efforts and make an even greater impact. Your partnership can help us bring sustainable energy solutions to those who need them most, ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against climate change and gender inequality.
Let us seize this moment to make a transformative difference. Together, through the widespread installation of solar roofs, we can create resilient communities capable of weathering future environmental challenges. We can build a more equitable and sustainable future for all, starting from individual households and extending our reach to the entire Zambia and the farthest corners of the globe.
Join us in this mission. Let’s honor the marginalized with the dignity of a decent roof and the empowerment of sustainable energy. Your support will not only change lives but will also contribute to a brighter, more sustainable world.
Thank you for considering our appeal. We look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you and make this vision a reality.
Warm regards,

Geoffrey Mulenga,
